Scopophilic, miniDV, 3 min, 2006
Scopophilic is a performative and sculptural video.
I incorporate my own body and clothing into my performative ideas. I use a handheld camera to record this intimate situation in order to create a stream of sculptural moments. By doing so I intend to question ideas about the fetish of body and clothing in a subtle, subversive and ironic manner.
While I play two roles at the same time, the subject (performer) and the artist (video artist) I keep the control of both roles. This can be understood as a contemporary feministic point of view.
